Posted: 12 Jul 2011 08:39 AM PDT So...who/what is UFeedMeBack? UFeedMeBack is a straightforward consulting tool that gives it's members (invite only) access to request feedback from well-known designers (feedbackers) who are willing to share some of their wisdom with the goal of helping others in the design community who are eager to learn and grow. Pretty cool idea, right? I thought so...I think it's been a few months ago now that UFeedMeBack (UFMB) contacted me about doing a giveaway as a way of introducing their new service to the Abduzeedo community. My first thought was that they've got a really cool idea and a not so catchy name. Nevertheless, because I know how helpful it can be to have someone to bounce ideas off of - especially someone who's opinion you respect - I got really excited about introducing this service to you guys. And just to be clear, yes, this is a sponsored post. However, all the opinions I express here are mine and the goal is to get some thoughts and comments from you guys too...as well as give away $20 worth of credits to 5 commenters so you can test the service out for yourselves. So how does UFMB work?Once you've signed up you'll want to get started by setting up your profile and submitting a design to get feedback on. Then you get to choose the feedbackers that you want to give access to your design. Once your design is uploaded the feedbacker(s) you've chosen can view it and make comments like this... Their comments will show up below your submitted design for you to view and discuss like this... Once you've received some constructive criticism from the UFMB expert who took on your design, you're able to make changes and resubmit. Each submission costs $2 - plus whatever the feedbacker charges. I've been told that the recommendation from UFMB to it's feedbackers is to charge 10% of their hourly consulting rate...so you can expect something around $10-$15 per submission. Who are the feedbackers? Here is a list I received of all the feedbackers currently on the site. Of course, the goal is to constantly be attracting big names in the design world - so I'd expect this list to grow with time. Nick La - @nickla (creator of webdesignerwall - bestwebgallery - themify ) Adelle Charles - @adellecharles Josh Brewer - @jbrewer (designer at twitter) Yaron Schoen - @yarcom Rogie King - @rogie Tyler Galpin - @TylerGalpin Robin Raszka - @robinraszka Sean Farrell - @brand_clay Josh Hemsley - @JoshHemsley Jeff Broderick - @brdrck Ismael Burciaga - @ismaelburciaga Andy Budd - @andybudd Andy Rutledge - @andyrutledge Iris Sousa - @irisedasousa Gedy Rivera - @gedyrivera Matthew Smith - @squaredeye - Creative director at Zaarly Sarah Parmenter - @sazzy - Speaker & Owner of You Know Who Design Andrew Cornett - @amotion Designer at Kickstarter Drew Wilson - @drewwilson Everaldo Coelho - @_everaldo currently working at Apple Lea Alcantara - @lealea Vin Thomas - @VinThomas How do you participate? It's pretty simple. All you need to do is go to www.ufeedmeback.com and apply for the service, which is free. After reading this post and checking out their site, leave a comment below with your thoughts and/or questions. We'll then use a random number generator to choose five commenters and award them one invite each and $20 worth of credit to give the service a test run. Looking forward to your thoughts! ![]() |

Adorable Illustrations by Genevieve Godbout Posted: 11 Jul 2011 09:14 PM PDT It's been some time since the last time that I actually called an illustration "adorable". I was thinking about other adjectives I could use for this one, and "lovely" and "It's so cute I wanna die" came through my mind.Don't laugh, these are seriously cute. I'm guessing by the style that Genevieve Godbout (the artist who did these!) used coloring pencils, which is absolutely old school and badass. She's definitely a great artist that knows how to draw cute little people, knows her style and her palette. Amazing indeed. For more of her work, you may check out her blog! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. Cheers! ;) ![]() |
